Giant Panda Bear Photograph Layout
These great photographs are for viewing and identification purposes. Many of the photos I find have no reliable link so I am asking viewers to please add a comment and link if they know who took any of the photos. Photos will be removed at artists request.
In the meantime enjoy today's post.
There were two baby Giant Pandas born at Zoo Atlanta on July 15. That is what influenced my choice of photographs this week. These beautiful black and white creatures are a sight to behold

Moving Animal Information and Links Animal Rescue Help First
I am sadly moving my animal lenses from Squidoo because they are being locked. I will be adding parts to Animal Cognizance. There are many animals that I never got to list in this series but I will try to do more. I never tire of learning about the different species and looking at the beautiful photographs but I do get upset at times when reading about abuse or about the dwindling numbers of these beautiful creatures. I am trying the only way I know how to enlighten people and introduce the wonderful world of our fellow travelers.
- Birds Help the animal of your choice at Worldwildlife.org
Please Feed Sheltered Animals, is Free
It only takes one click each day to put a few morsels of food in a sheltered animals belly. It amazes me that more people don't do something that is free in order to give a helping hand.
I have had a mental competition with myself, I know wow ... how lame. Anyway I watch the numbers each day and have longed to see the number of bowls donated hit 200,000 but over the years it hasn't.
This could be one of the most satisfying things you do since it is so easy and the end result is the wagging tail of a happy cat or dog
No getting your hands dirty, no breaking into your piggy bank.
Just one click of your mouse on the banner above You might say how can I remember to click everyday? My one click now isn't going to amount to anything. Well there is a super easy fix, you can opt to get a daily email reminding you to click and since the link is right in the email all you have to do is go to the site from there. No bookmarks, no need to remember any URLs. That's what I do just click from the email reminder.
After you click on the button to donate you will see a graph at the bottom of the page that comes up with the total number of bowel of food donated from clicks. I have been doing this for a couple years and have not seen the number for any given day hit 200,000 yet.
Join me, click and lets get to 200,000

STATUS

~~~~~
POPULATION
200 to 300 individuals
SCIENTIFIC NAME
Gorilla gorilla diehli
HEIGHT
4 to 5 ½ feet when standing on two feet
WEIGHT
up to 440 pounds
from WWF
The population risks inbreeding and a loss of genetic diversity because there are so few Cross River gorillas and they live in groups that interact infrequently if at all.
Where these endangered animals live it is illegal to hunt Gorillas but the wildlife laws are lax. The killing of just one of the few remaining can be detrimental in this already small population.
Hawksbills are particularly susceptible to entanglement in gill nets and accidental capture on fishing hooks. 2013 Endangered Animals, Amur Leopard, Black Rhino
This is a truly horrifying list of natures near extinct wild animals. The horrifying part is that man is the reason for the animals being on this list. Instead of natural selection as a way to kill off a species man has taken it upon himself to single-handedly wipe the planet free of all animals not beneficial to his daily needs and greedy wants.These are only those animals that are listed as CRITICAL by the WWF, World Wildlife Fund. Not to be confused with the World Wrestling Federation.
This post contains only facts and links to WWF for donations and / or the purchase of adopting their cute stuffed animals.
Record Number of Rhinos Killed in South Africa
Poaching statistics released by the South African government reveal 668 rhinos were slaughtered-a 50% increase over 2011 and a staggering 5000% increase since 2007.
Poached Horn Anyone ?
The rhinos horns are being poached for many different reason. To increase longevity and increase sexual appetite to curing cancer. The horns are made of keritin, the same as our fingernails and have no medicial or magical properties.
